About the position

The Mental Health Associate position at ColumbiaCare Services involves working as part of a direct care team to support adults with serious mental illness. The role focuses on developing life skills, providing therapeutic interventions, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in mental health or caregiving roles, and it offers opportunities for professional development and certification as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA).

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions for clients.
  • Perform housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.
  • Administer medication as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Assist clients in meeting their Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

Requirements

  • Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiver for clients with behavioral health needs.
  • Eligibility for QMHA registration, requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field or three years of verifiable behavioral health experience.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, particularly in Spanish/English.
  • Experience in crisis de-escalation and CPR.
