About the position

The Mental Health Counselor will provide evidence based therapeutic interventions and services to children and their families which will enable them to deal with a range of behavioral and emotional problems identified. The Mental Health Counselor will also provide intakes, assessments, individual, and family counseling in-home, in-office, at designated school campuses in the Houston area, community or virtual settings. The Mental Health Counselor may also work in collaboration with community partners to provide these services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence based therapeutic interventions and services to children and their families.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments.
  • Offer individual and family counseling in various settings including in-home, in-office, schools, community, or virtual.
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide mental health services.

Requirements

  • Master's in social work or related human services field.
  • Fully licensed as an LMSW; or provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate, or LMFT-Associate.
  • Passed licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate.
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Entry level acceptable with one year's experience.
  • Experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare.
