About the position

The Mental Health Counselor at Paramount Counseling Inc. is responsible for providing quality mental health support and services to clients, focusing on developing and enhancing their skills. This role involves creating individualized service plans (ISPs) and implementing behavioral support strategies tailored to each client's needs. The counselor will work closely with clients aged 4-21, providing therapeutic interventions in their homes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health treatment to individuals receiving services.
  • Deliver individual and family services, behavior management, care coordination, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and skills training.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required, with weekly supervision provided.
  • Collaborate with referral sources and other treatment providers.
  • Create individualized service plans (ISPs) and implement the goals and objectives with clients.
  • Complete required clinical documentation in a timely and professional manner, within 24 hours after services are completed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations set by governing bodies and maintain standards of care according to DBHDS policies and procedures.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions in the client's home.
  • Assist with the coordination of services to meet the client's needs, including schools, physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, court, probation, or other community professionals.
  • Attend weekly supervisions.
  • Provide, respond to, or arrange crisis interventions as needed, being available 24/7.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and submit timely for compensation of services, including Progress Notes, Quarterly and Monthly reports, ISPs, and Discharge Summaries.
  • Perform assessments to document the need for Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) as an LMHP or Supervisee/Resident.
  • Assist with records review to maintain compliance, accreditation, and licensure standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • QMHP-C Certification - VA Board of Counseling (Required)
  • Master's degree (Preferred) - LMHP or Supervisee/Residents
  • One year of experience with a related degree (e.g., Human Services)
  • Excellent computer software skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Electronic Medical Records, and Email
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
