About the position

The Mental Health Professional III Lic PRN at LewisGale Medical Center is responsible for delivering exceptional psychiatric treatment to patients and their families. This role emphasizes patient-centered care and aims to achieve positive outcomes through evaluations, psycho-education, group activities, treatment planning, and therapeutic counseling. The position requires effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries while providing high-quality mental health services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver psychiatric treatment to patients and their families.
• Conduct evaluations and provide psycho-education.
• Plan treatment and map out discharge processes.
• Provide therapeutic counseling in one-on-one, family, and group settings.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and care providers.
• Educate patients and families about state commitment processes and abuse reporting requirements.
• Serve as an educational resource for behavioral services.
• Review and coach new staff/interns as assigned.
• Participate in department goal setting and clinical programming.
• Perform utilization review as assigned.
• Assist with Process and Quality Improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or BCLS Instructor certification.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
