About the position

Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Instructor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the North Brunswick, NJ campus. The role involves mentoring nursing students in an inpatient clinical setting, focusing on mental health and psychiatric nursing. The instructor will guide students in demonstrating nursing skills and procedures, emphasizing the dynamics of individual functioning in society. This position requires a commitment of one 12-hour shift per week for each 8-week session at a clinical partner site.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
  • Plans clinical experiences and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
  • Evaluates and provides documented feedback to students on their performance based on course objectives.
  • Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies and procedures.
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base and skill competency.
  • Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
  • Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program and campus retention efforts.

Requirements

  • A Master's in Nursing (MSN) or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • An unencumbered New Jersey RN nursing license.
  • Active BLS certification from a recognized provider.
  • At least two years of professional experience within the last five years as a registered nurse.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
