About the position

The Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) position at Johnson County Government involves providing comprehensive nursing services in an outpatient facility. Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive nursing services to patients.
  • Assesses the holistic needs of individuals, incorporating family and environmental factors.
  • Collects and documents patient health history and vital signs.
  • Completes health assessments and performs limited exams.
  • Manages and implements medication administration programs, including psychotropic injectable medications.
  • Documents patient care and condition, reviewing quality and effectiveness of services provided.
  • Educates patients and families on health, wellness, and daily living activities.
  • Develops and provides specialized health training and education to staff.
  • Provides case management, care coordination, and follow-up for individuals and families.
  • Evaluates outcomes and effectiveness of care plans, making necessary adjustments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a program that meets the requirements for Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas is required.
  • May require a KS/MO driver's license depending on department or agency.

Nice-to-haves
