About The Position

The Mental Health Rehab Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with severe mental illness, aiming to reduce the risk of chronic diseases associated with stress, anxiety, and substance abuse. This position involves providing rehabilitation services to adults in a community setting, focusing on skills training, symptom management, medication skills training, independent living, socialization, and money management. The role requires independent work under limited supervision, with major activities reported through periodic meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistance, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention, or a bachelor's degree with at least 30 hours of coursework in these fields.
• At least 1 year of experience in the mental health field preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's license and auto liability insurance with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal history and background checks as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must obtain QMHP certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities
