About the position

The Mental Health Skills Trainer position within the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team at Marion County focuses on providing intensive treatment and support services to individuals with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. The role involves skills training, case management, and community outreach, primarily delivered in various community settings. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, person-centered, and committed to helping individuals achieve their best lives through effective support and resource access.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health services to individuals with serious and persistent mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Deliver skills training in areas such as daily living activities, medication management, and community integration.
• Facilitate individual and group skills training sessions.
• Transport individuals to necessary appointments and grocery shopping.
• Assist individuals in accessing community services, supports, and housing through case management.
• Participate in intra-agency and interagency case staffings for evaluation and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation as per federal, state, and county requirements.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation to support individuals in crisis.

Requirements

• Three years of relevant work experience in a behavioral health services field or a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field.
• Current Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) Qualified Mental Health Associate certification or registration within 90 days of hire.
• Possess a current driver's license and acceptable driving history.
