About the position
The Mental Health Specialist I position is focused on providing mental health services and case management to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. This role involves engagement, assessment, evaluation, and collaboration with external agencies, ensuring comprehensive support for clients referred to the Community Services Program. The specialist will work within a team of clinical and support staff to deliver effective mental health care and document services provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health services including engagement, assessment, and evaluation to clients.
- Deliver case management services to children, adolescents, and adults.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies to coordinate care.
- Document and bill for mental health and case management services.
- Complete outcomes information for services provided.
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Two years of experience working in the Mental Health Field or sixty semester hours of college coursework in child development, psychology, or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and caregivers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of community resources related to the mental health field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling.
- Familiarity with rehabilitative and skill-building services.
- Knowledge of medication management and support.
