As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting, supporting and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe.
- Engage in daily activities such as Recreational and Social Activities that enhance social skill development.
- Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
- Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.
Requirements
- High school diploma and two years direct care experience or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline.
- Experience in psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, health, recreation, criminal justice, or counseling.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health services.
