About the position

The Mental Health Technician position at Lightfully Behavioral Health involves providing care and supervision to clients in a mental health treatment setting. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the physical and psychological safety of clients, assisting with medication administration, and supporting clients in crisis. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Supports clients' physical and psychological safety.
  • Monitors and oversees clients' self-administration of medication.
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation of observations during shifts.
  • Ensures that documentation accurately reflects all changes in client's condition and notifies clinical staff of noteworthy observations.
  • Transports clients on outings and doctor's appointments.
  • Provides one-on-one assistance to clients in crisis as directed by the clinical team.
  • Assists clients with nutritional and dietary needs, including meal and snack assembly.
  • Assists clients in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Seeks assistance of licensed staff when needed.
  • Assists in the admission and discharge process, including orientation and belongings inventory.
  • Leads or co-leads and facilitates groups as appropriate to licensure.
  • Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • One year full-time experience working with the client group to be served, or two years' experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home.
  • Completion of 15 college semester or equivalent quarter units in behavioral sciences, with 9 units in courses relating to children with behavioral problems.
  • Complete First Aid Training and obtain a First Aid Certificate.
  • Complete required health screening, TB clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a corrections facility or medical clinic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
