About the position

The Mental Health Technician at AMFM Healthcare plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals facing mental health challenges. This full-time position involves working closely with clients to facilitate their recovery journey, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting a nurturing environment. The technician will engage in various responsibilities, including client orientation, medication monitoring, and documentation, all aimed at empowering individuals towards mental wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Support all Program Staff and Clients who are in the care of AMFM Healthcare.
  • Conduct orientation to new clients, including reviewing safety drills, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits.
  • Coordinate and transport clients safely to all daily activities, ensuring they arrive on time and safely.
  • Utilize intervention and communication skills in working with clients.
  • Utilize an electronic health record system (EHR) to document client activities effectively.
  • Monitor and document client self-administration of medications while coaching clients in self-management.
  • Report any deficiencies or maintain the integrity of the residences, ensuring optimal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Conduct observation rounds to ensure client safety and document client behavior and participation in treatment.
  • Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled.
  • Assist with intakes and discharges of clients according to AMFM Healthcare's policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Joint Commission policies and procedures, including Waived Testing, Infection Prevention and Control, and Emergency Management.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check with the Federal Department of Justice (LiveScan) and California Department of Social Services.
  • Current valid Driver's License with 4+ years of continuous driving history without any major traffic violations, at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
