About the position
The Mental Health Worker position at Sheppard Pratt involves working under the supervision of a licensed nurse to assess and address the needs of patients in an inpatient setting. The position offers flexible scheduling options, including 8- and 12-hour shifts, and is part of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on individual behaviors and conditions.
- Work closely with a licensed nurse to provide direct care to patients.
- Participate in extended clinical orientation and training provided by the Clinical Education Department.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to support patient care.
- Ensure availability to work every other weekend.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- An advanced degree in a human services field is strongly preferred, either in progress or already obtained.
- Past direct care or related experience is strongly preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a healthcare or mental health setting.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid.
