About the position

The Mentoring Recruitment and Retention Specialist - Community Engagement & Support Services is responsible for supporting the recruitment and retention of mentoring programs under the guidance of the Mentoring Coordinator. This role requires a deep understanding of youth development, prevention theories, and cultural competence, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and retention of mentoring programs.
  • Collaborate with the Mentoring Coordinator to implement community engagement strategies.
  • Utilize knowledge of youth development and prevention theories in mentoring initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and community members.
  • Manage social media and web-blogging efforts to promote mentoring services.
  • Conduct community-based travel for program implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human services, education, psychology, social work, or a related field required.
  • Three years of work experience can substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Minimum of two years related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation required.
  • Solid computer skills required.

  • Experience with web-blogging and social media outlets.
  • Experience with mentoring services.
