About the position

The MEP Project Manager at Jacobs is responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for large-scale construction projects. This role involves managing the project from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to program objectives, budget, and schedule. The position requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to resolve complex construction-related issues while mentoring staff and maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project delivery for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Provide construction oversight to Owners' Representatives (OARs).
  • Resolve complex construction project-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
  • Ensure progress and technical MEP performance of the project.
  • Oversee material management, schedule, cost, scope, and safety of the project team.
  • Apply proven project management techniques to reduce costs and add value to the business.
  • Mentor staff and support their professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system construction for large projects.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction processes, contract management, and project delivery methods.
  • Experience with research laboratory or healthcare projects, including wet labs and environmentally controlled rooms.
  • Experience with campus central utility plant systems and large institutional projects over $100M or 200,000 SF.
  • Proficiency in MEP related design concepts and construction methods.
  • Understanding of QA/QC and commissioning processes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
