Our client is seeking a dedicated MEP Drafter / Designer to join their team in Elk Grove, IL. This is a permanent position that offers a flexible work schedule, allowing employees to start their day between 7 AM and 9 AM and finish between 4 PM and 6 PM, with a total of 8 hours of work each day, including a 1-hour lunch break. It is important to note that remote work is not an option for this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for drawing building systems and a desire for professional growth within the field. The company aims to develop CAD operators into system designers and beyond, providing ample opportunities for career advancement. As an AutoCAD Drafter / Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and construction documents for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering projects. The company specializes in HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Electrical design for various commercial buildings, including schools. You will work closely with experienced designers and engineers to ensure that all project specifications are met and that the final documents are accurate and comprehensive. Responsibilities

  • Create detailed drawings and construction documents for HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for building information modeling of various building systems.
  • Assist in the development of project designs and modifications as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AutoCAD building information modeling of HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Systems for commercial buildings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software is required.
  • Experience with Revit is a plus.
