About the position
The MEP Engineer position at Actalent involves designing HVAC systems and performing load calculations for various projects. The role requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines, and includes travel to job sites in Northern New Jersey for surveys and compliance checks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP design and proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems and perform load calculations using AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams.
- Implement designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct existing conditions surveys at job sites across Northern NJ.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and local building codes.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.
- Interpret and read mechanical and electrical MEP plans.
Requirements
- 2-6 years of experience in MEP design.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Strong understanding of HVAC design within buildings.
- Ability to perform load calculations, duct design, piping design, and layouts.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a design role within an MEP consulting firm.
- E.I.T. certification is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work across all MEP trades: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
