About the position

This position is for a highly skilled Engineer to oversee critical infrastructure operations for Goldman Sachs' new North End campus development in Dallas. The role involves managing engineering and critical systems operations, ensuring reliability and efficiency of MEP infrastructure, and leading a team responsible for the maintenance and sustainability of commercial real estate assets. The Engineer will also participate in crisis management and incident response, ensuring operational capabilities are restored swiftly during critical incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering and Critical Systems Operations for the Americas Central Region corporate real estate portfolio.
  • Manage a team of engineering managers and operating engineers for day-to-day operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with global engineering policies and procedures for MEP infrastructure.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to track energy performance and capacity utilization.
  • Perform site visits to evaluate infrastructure conditions related to system design and operation.
  • Refine monitoring processes for campus infrastructure loads such as UPS and utility power.
  • Develop infrastructure design and operational risk models for commercial risk management.
  • Leverage fault detection software to identify operational anomalies.
  • Evaluate operational procedures to ensure compliance with risk management objectives.
  • Manage capacity in data centers and support technology change management processes.
  • Participate in real estate planning, design, and execution of capital projects.
  • Manage onsite vendors providing facility management services.
  • Support project management of critical infrastructure construction and upgrades.
  • Participate in the development of annual operations and capital budgets for facilities.
  • Act as the Facility Management team stakeholder for critical system design requirements.
  • Provide crisis management support and manage the firm's exposure to business risk.
  • Be available 24/7 to manage critical incidents and evaluate vendor responses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of engineering design and/or facilities management experience, preferably in financial institutions or technology-intensive organizations.
  • Broad understanding of critical systems infrastructure and risk mitigation practices.
  • Proven track record of managing a team of engineers.
  • Experience working with client organizations in planning and operations of critical facilities.
  • Ability to read and understand MEP drawings and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of building codes and ASHRAE/NFPA standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • Electrical/Mechanical design and commissioning experience.
  • Field experience in large scale construction projects.
