About the position

The MEP Project Coordinator at Air Systems Inc., a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., plays a crucial role in managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about the MEP field and are eager to contribute to the successful completion of projects. The coordinator will work closely with the Operations Manager and will be involved in various aspects of project management, from initial planning to final execution. This role is essential for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. In this position, the MEP Project Coordinator will assist in all areas of technical and management tasks necessary to facilitate project completion. This includes escalating project issues promptly, assisting in sales and estimation of MEP construction jobs, and researching customer needs. The coordinator will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, managing materials and manpower for assigned projects, and estimating costs related to Building Automation Systems (BAS) projects. Coordination and scheduling of work with other divisions within the organization are also key responsibilities. The MEP Project Coordinator will manage projects from conceptualization to completion, attend and facilitate project meetings, and support project teams in achieving departmental and company goals, including financial objectives. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in all areas of technical and management to facilitate a project to completion under the direction and mentoring of a Project Manager
  • Escalating project issues in a timely manner
  • Assisting in Sale and Estimation of MEP construction jobs and change orders
  • Assisting in researching customer needs
  • Developing and maintain relationships with ASI clients
  • Managing the needed materials and manpower to support assigned MEP projects
  • Estimating costs (materials, equipment, and labor) of BAS assigned projects
  • Coordinating and scheduling work with other divisions within the organization
  • Assisting with sales calls to prospective clients as required
  • Managing projects from conceptualization to completion
  • Attending and facilitating MEP project meetings as required
  • Assist project teams to support department and company goals including financials

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of MEP experience
  • General understanding and experience with HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing/Piping systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Experience with PlanGrid, COINS, and billing is a plus
