About the position

The MEP Project Manager will oversee the management and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects within the commercial service and construction sector. This role involves planning, budgeting, team coordination, risk management, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop a detailed project plan, outlining timelines, milestones, resources, and budgets.
  • Create and manage the project budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints.
  • Oversee the performance of contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify potential project risks and create contingency plans.
  • Oversee the drafting and execution of contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including permits, inspection reports, contracts, and change orders.
  • Conduct a final inspection of the completed project to ensure all contractual obligations and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) can be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with building codes, standards, and regulations, such as OSHA and LEED certifications.
  • Understanding of construction techniques, materials, and processes, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural elements.
  • Knowledge of contract law and various construction contracting methods (e.g., lump-sum, cost-plus, design-build).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LEAN principles in project management.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
