About the position

The Merchandise Associate at HomeGoods plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This part-time position involves engaging with customers, adhering to operational standards, and supporting various store functions to contribute to the overall success of the business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and handle cash according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company standards.
• Participate in store recovery throughout the day.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective collaboration with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
