About the position

The Merchandise Manager (MM) at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to achieve top-line sales growth while embodying the company's mission, vision, and values. This role involves overseeing store operations, including shipment processes, replenishment, and compliance with operational standards. The MM is expected to drive business performance through effective people management, operational excellence, and adherence to processes, all while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement among associates.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to sales and guest loyalty.
• Drive company profitability through operational excellence and expense control.
• Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs and maximize productivity.
• Review and analyze financial and operational reporting to react timely to store performance.
• Perform makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance guest service experience.
• Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
• Support associate professional development through training and feedback.
• Model a culture of operational excellence by leading by example and sharing best practices.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and standards.
• Execute day-to-day inventory control processes and minimize loss.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• 1-2+ years of fast-paced retail management experience.
• Proven ability to drive top-line sales and manage payroll budgets.
• Experience in monitoring inventory levels and achieving operational excellence.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to attract and develop talent.
• Proficient with basic technology, including Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
