About the position

The Merchandise Planner at Kay Signet Jewelers is responsible for developing, maintaining, and presenting merchandise plans that include category plans, open-to-buy (OTB) forecasting, assortment strategy, and product lifecycle planning. The role aims to maximize profitability and achieve increased sales and inventory turnover in alignment with company sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Maximize profitability through SKU rationalization and quantify impact on business.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis of weekly business review.
• Manage stock levels for all SKUs in stores and/or eCommerce within specified categories.
• Execute and help define the strategic vision of assigned categories.
• Partner with team members to develop and execute financial plans consisting of sales, margin, inventory, GMROI, and turn through the open to buy process.
• Present open to buy and line review financials to senior management.
• Develop detailed analysis with recommended actions, risks, and opportunities.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Provide guidance and direction to the planning team on allocation strategies, SKU forecasting, build strategies, stock balances, ordering, and overall inventory management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or related area.
• 2+ years of experience in retail or product management.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite & Excel.
• Advanced analytics skills identifying trends and issues and ability to determine root cause.
• Knowledge of managing budgets and sales volume.
• Experience building and managing productive assortment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and driven professional.
