About the position

As a Merchandise Planner at Christy Sports, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing the merchandise financial plan to maximize revenue, margin, and inventory productivity. This position requires collaboration with various departments, including Merchandising and Finance, to manage the Open to Buy (OTB) and support goal setting and performance analysis across all business channels. Your success will depend on building strong cross-functional partnerships and maintaining healthy inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Merchandising to develop, execute, and analyze merchandise plans for all business channels.
  • Manage OTB, including preseason plans, sales forecasting, and gross margin analysis.
  • Provide strategic recommendations during business review sessions with leadership.
  • Work with Allocation to optimize inventory levels and maximize sales and product sell-through.
  • Analyze product range assortment and productivity to influence merchandising decisions.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance replenishment processes and inventory productivity.
  • Monitor key operational and financial metrics, including inventory and sales goals.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to align business objectives and support replenishment strategies.
  • Execute inventory flow strategies to ensure adequate investment in merchandise.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners to meet company goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail merchandise planning or inventory management.
  • Proven forecasting skills and experience in relationship management.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management and prioritization.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in retail math.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work across functional boundaries and influence others.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with a resourceful work ethic and integrity.
  • Commitment to high levels of customer service.
