The Merchandiser position at O'Reilly Auto Parts involves greeting customers on the sales floor, assisting them in locating merchandise, and ensuring the front area is well-stocked and organized. The role includes cashier responsibilities, handling customer transactions efficiently, and acting as a deterrent to shoplifting. This position is essential for maintaining the store's appearance and customer service standards while supporting overall sales operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor and assist them in locating merchandise or direct them to parts specialists.
• Check in, price, and stock merchandise according to planograms or displays.
• Keep the display floor fronted, full, and clean on a daily basis.
• Make display changes according to company guidelines and ensure all sale signs are in place.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
• Act as the main shoplifting deterrent and front floor security.
• Check out customers purchasing front floor merchandise in a quick and friendly manner.
• Handle merchandise returns from customers efficiently.
• Assist customers with transactions when the express lane is not being utilized.

Requirements

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
