About the position

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Merchandiser and Cashier. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting customers on the sales floor, assisting them in locating merchandise, and directing them to parts specialists when necessary. You will also handle customer checkouts, deter shoplifters, and maintain the front area of the store by stocking merchandise according to planograms and displays. This position requires a commitment to customer service and a proactive approach to maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor and assist them in locating merchandise or direct them to parts specialists.
• Check in, price, and put up stock.
• Keep merchandise on display floor fronted, full, and clean on a daily basis.
• Make display changes according to company guidelines and planograms.
• Make all out-front price changes and ensure all 'sale' signs are in place.
• Maintain sufficient quantities of sale merchandise on display and remove all sale material when sales end.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
• Work with the manager to complete the store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
• Act as the main shoplifting deterrent and front floor security.
• Assist with O'Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Check out customers purchasing front floor merchandise in a quick and friendly manner.
• Handle merchandise returns from customers efficiently.
• Assist customers by finishing tickets and processing payments when the express lane is not being utilized.

Requirements

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish.
