About the position

The Merchandiser - Field Sales Support role at UNFI involves partnering with assigned customers to ensure optimal product availability and placement. This position requires daily travel to various store locations in North-East Massachusetts, with responsibilities including merchandising products, managing back-stock, and maintaining effective business relationships with customers. The role offers a competitive hourly wage and mileage reimbursement for travel.

Responsibilities

• Order products that align with the needs of the customer.
• Effectively display store products.
• Maintain effective business relationships with customers.
• Travel daily to customer locations.
• Arrive promptly at customer locations on assigned route for service.
• Rotate stock and remove out of code product.
• Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
• Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
• Notify customers of product and/or delivery.
• Assist in hanging shelf tags and promotional materials.
• Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
• Follow through on customer product requests.
• Keep management informed of area activities and significant concerns.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Provide backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license necessary.
• Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements.
• Prior customer service experience in a retail/grocery setting.
• System Implementation preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good judgment is required.
