About the position

The Mandate Retail Service Merchandiser position at Acosta is designed for motivated and career-minded individuals who are eager to join a national network of retail merchandisers. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation of retail programs through effective teamwork. The primary responsibilities include performing reset and remodel work, which encompasses reading and implementing plan-o-grams, placing new items, correcting voids, and engaging in special merchandising activities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a quick learning ability, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential, as building relationships with business partners is a key aspect of the role. In this position, the merchandiser will be tasked with various duties such as moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks, displaying merchandise correctly, and ensuring that shelf strips and tags are attached properly. The role also involves checking date codes and maintaining plan-o-gram integrity, as well as processing pack-outs, restocks, and reorders as necessary. Collaboration with store personnel and co-workers is crucial to achieving and maintaining merchandising excellence, discussing changes, and fostering effective working relationships. Additionally, the merchandiser will be required to report observations and issues to the Mandate Senior Area Manager or Mandate Area Manager. Proficiency in web-based applications is necessary for managing work availability, checking schedules, accepting assignments, and documenting work-related information. Safety is a priority, and the merchandiser must demonstrate awareness of their surroundings and utilize proper safety techniques. Other duties may be assigned as needed, and adherence to Acosta's policies and standard operating procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow a plan-o-gram to effectively complete reset and remodel work.
  • Perform duties such as moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks and shelves, and displaying merchandise properly.
  • Place shelf strips and attach tags properly, check date codes and plan-o-gram integrity, and process pack-outs, restocks, and reorders as necessary.
  • Partner with store personnel and co-workers to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, discuss changes, and build effective working relationships.
  • Report and discuss observations and issues with Mandate Senior Area Manager/Mandate Area Manager.
  • Effectively and accurately work with web-based applications to manage work availability, schedules, and documentation.
  • Prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned reset and remodel work.
  • Perform job safely by demonstrating full awareness of surroundings and utilizing proper safety techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Understand and follow all Acosta policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Willing and able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Able to read and communicate effectively with others.
  • Able to operate or learn how to operate a computer, calculator, fax machine, telephone, paper cutter, copier, hammer, screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack.
  • Must be able to climb and stand on a step stool or ladder.
