The Merchandising Specialist position at PrimeSource is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to enter the Building Materials Industry. The position primarily involves servicing a designated territory that includes Nashville and surrounding areas, where the specialist will be responsible for merchandising fasteners in home improvement retail stores. The ideal candidate will reside within the service area to effectively support the client base. As a Merchandising Specialist, you will be expected to manage a schedule that includes visiting 15-23 stores, with some locations requiring weekly visits and others bi-weekly. The role demands a high level of independence, as you will be working remotely and will be provided with a company vehicle, including a Dodge Ram truck, to facilitate your travel. Additionally, you will receive an iPhone and company apparel to represent PrimeSource in the field. Your primary responsibilities will include down-stocking products, installing signage, maintaining plan-o-gram layouts, pricing displays, and training store employees on various fasteners. This position is crucial for achieving sales goals and enhancing customer profitability, as you will serve as the first line of customer service and maintain vital partnerships between customers and vendors. The role offers flexible start and end times, allowing for a work-life balance without weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Service 2 to 3 stores a day within the designated territory.
  • Down-stock products from overheads to sales floor shelves.
  • Install signage and maintain plan-o-gram layouts in stores.
  • Price displays and ensure accurate inventory counts.
  • Train store employees on different fasteners and products.
  • Monitor customer warehouse inventory levels and submit weekly reports.
  • Collaborate with customers to create attractive sales floor displays.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and the company, addressing issues and solving problems.
  • Assist customers in organizing their warehouse for better product accessibility.
  • Stock sales floor shelves for customers requesting additional inventory management assistance.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Experience in big box retail is required.
  • Knowledge of hardware and building materials is preferred.
  • Ability to work safely in a retail construction environment.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
  • Capability to move merchandise up and down ladders is required.
  • Must live within the territory that you support.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
