About the position

The Merchandiser/Sales Representative role at Az Southeast Distributors is designed for an entry-level individual eager to join a dynamic team. The position focuses on establishing and maintaining customer relationships, effectively merchandising products, and promoting new offerings. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a professional demeanor, with the ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Represent the company and maintain a professional seller-buyer relationship with existing customers and bring in new accounts.
  • Maintain accounts through weekly visits, accurate orders, effective merchandising, and quality products.
  • Represent the entire product line and introduce new packages.
  • Make customers aware of new products and services.
  • Merchandise all accounts with current, thematic, permanent, and temporary P.O.S.
  • Install and maintain displays.
  • Ensure proper placement of coolers, shelves, and displays; obtain and maintain maximum space in keeping with display and distribution standards.
  • Stay current with competitive market conditions, prices, and products; perform market analysis as required.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and promotional activities.
  • Pre-sell accounts and enter orders electronically via iPad.
  • Communicate weekly sales, special promotions, new product lines, and new flavors to accounts, as well as distribute point of sale material supporting sales and promotions to existing and potential customers.
  • Maintain working relationships with district managers, customers, drivers, and fellow salesmen.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry a minimum of 40lbs repetitively.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Effective selling skills and ability to create relationships.
  • Time management skills and punctuality.
  • Honest, outgoing, and culturally sensitive personality.
  • Persistent, patient, and self-motivated.
  • Clear business ethics and ability to convey a positive and professional image.

Nice-to-haves

  • Beverage experience is a plus but not required.
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required.
