About the position

The Merchandiser Travel Retail Service position at ACO-US is a full-time role based in Shawnee, Kansas, where the individual will represent Acosta, its clients, and customers. The primary responsibility involves working collaboratively in teams to execute reset and remodel tasks. This includes reading and implementing plan-o-grams, placing new items, correcting voids, and engaging in special merchandising activities. The role demands a self-starter who is a quick learner, possesses a strong attention to detail, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. In this position, the merchandiser will be required to read and follow plan-o-grams to effectively complete reset and remodel work. A working knowledge of merchandising and retail terminology is essential. Responsibilities also include moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks and shelves, properly displaying merchandise, placing shelf strips, attaching tags, checking date codes, and ensuring plan-o-gram integrity. The merchandiser will also process pack-outs, restocks, and reorders as necessary. Collaboration with store personnel and co-workers is crucial to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence. This involves discussing changes and building effective working relationships. The role also requires the preparation, processing, submission, and management of documentation related to assigned reset and remodel work. Safety is a priority, and the merchandiser must demonstrate full awareness of their surroundings, utilize proper safety techniques, and proactively alert management to any unsafe conditions. Adherence to Acosta's policies and standard operating procedures is mandatory, along with the completion of other assigned duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow a plan-o-gram to effectively complete reset and remodel work.
  • Perform duties such as moving and cleaning shelves, installing new racks and shelves, and displaying merchandise properly.
  • Place shelf strips and attach tags properly, check date codes, and ensure plan-o-gram integrity.
  • Process pack-outs, restocks, and reorders as necessary.
  • Partner with store personnel and co-workers to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence.
  • Effectively prepare, process, submit, and manage documentation related to assigned reset and remodel work.
  • Demonstrate full awareness of surroundings and utilize proper safety techniques and equipment.
  • Understand and follow all Acosta Policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ year's Customer Service experience preferred
  • Prior sales agent, retail, and reset responsibility experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with business partners
  • Comfortable utilizing technology (i.e., smartphones, computer, copier/fax, and handheld devices)
  • Ability to work accurately with web-based applications for work documentation and time management
  • Willingness to work in cold environmental conditions (i.e., refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively with others
