About the position

Welcome to Zappos! We are excited to present the opportunity for a Senior Merchandising Services Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall development, direction, coordination, and execution of various merchandising projects and initiatives. You will oversee the Merchandising Services team, ensuring that all projects align with our company values and culture, which emphasize diversity, inclusion, and a fun work environment. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a positive team spirit and driving innovative solutions that deliver exceptional results. As a Senior Merchandising Services Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders to identify necessary merchandising projects and initiatives. This includes developing project scopes and objectives, ensuring technical feasibility, and managing timelines from conception to completion. You will be tasked with creating detailed project plans to track progress and managing budgets associated with these initiatives. Your role will also involve assisting stakeholders with contract negotiations and budgetary decisions, as well as researching and reporting data findings to relevant parties. In addition to project management, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and training to your team members, helping them achieve their developmental goals and enhancing their performance. Your ability to manage budgets effectively, analyze proposed plans, and support strategic planning activities will be essential in this position. You will also be expected to maintain open and honest communication with your team and stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine necessary Merchandising projects and initiatives
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all appropriate stakeholders
  • Timeline projects from conception to completion to ensure efficient and streamlined project completion
  • Develop detailed project/initiative plans to track progress
  • Manage budgets associated with projects and initiatives
  • Assist stakeholders with contract negotiation and budgetary decisions
  • Research, interpret, and report data/findings from projects and initiatives to appropriate parties
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, training, developmental goals, and performance management to Merchandising Services team members

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of merchandising experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of project management-related experience in a merchandising, procurement, pricing, supply chain, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
