About the position

The position involves gathering disparate data from various sources, analyzing and normalizing it to ensure data integrity for analysis. The role requires providing consistent, relevant, and accurate data, along with guidance and knowledge of the data and definitions available for analysis. As a resource to assigned clients, the individual will compile raw data, conduct research for industry trends and benchmarks, and normalize data for incorporation into a centralized format. The analysis will include reporting, making comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determining trends, and preparing cost analyses. Additionally, the individual will define data definitions and document any limitations associated with the data. The role also involves preparing spreadsheets for data analysis, generating reports with charts, graphs, mailing lists, maps, and handling ad hoc requests. Presentations may be required based on the findings and analysis, and the individual will provide recommendations accordingly. Input on policies and procedures is also part of the responsibilities, along with participation in department and interdepartmental projects. The nature of the work requires increasing independence, with guidance provided only on unusual or complex problems. Work review typically involves periodic checks by a supervisor or direct customers of the process. The individual may also provide general guidance or training to junior-level support or professional personnel.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certification is required in some areas.
