About the position

The Merchandising Sales Associate, High Volume position at Tractor Supply Company is a vital role within the Field Activity Support Team (FAST). This position is primarily focused on executing a variety of tasks that are essential for maintaining the store's merchandising standards and ensuring a positive customer experience. The associate will be responsible for completing planograms, managing signage, implementing price changes, and conducting physical inventories. This role requires a proactive approach to communication, as the associate will regularly interact with the District FAST Supervisor to report on work completion and address any issues that arise. In addition to the core responsibilities, the associate will also engage with customers, providing legendary customer service by following the GURA method: greeting customers, uncovering their needs, recommending products, and asking for the sale. The position demands flexibility and adaptability, as the associate will need to work scheduled shifts primarily from Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of additional hours based on business needs. The working environment is generally indoors with moderate noise levels, and associates will be expected to maintain a safe and productive atmosphere for both team members and customers. Physical demands include the ability to move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds and the use of material handling equipment for heavier items. Overall, this role is crucial for ensuring that the store operates smoothly and that customers receive the best possible service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts Monday thru Thursday unless otherwise dictated by business needs.
  • Communicate proactively and regularly with District FAST Supervisor on work completion, issues, and offer solutions to overcome.
  • Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain visual merchandise standards.
  • Perform store specific measurements.
  • Complete store layout initiatives.
  • Perform accurate counts for store inventories, as well as cycle counts.
  • Complete Tractor Way top cap process.
  • Complete store price changes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Hang store signage including, but not limited to, Circulars, Price Cuts and Managers' Specials.
  • Assemble merchandise, fixtures and PDQs.
  • Perform detailed recovery and review planogram integrity.
  • Make the customer a priority when approached and provide legendary customer service.

Requirements

  • No experience is required.
  • High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to complete assignments with little to no assistance.
