About the position

The Merchandising Sales Associate position at Tractor Supply Company is a vital role within the Field Activity Support Team (FAST). This position is primarily focused on executing various merchandising tasks within a single store environment. The associate will be responsible for a range of activities that include managing planograms, updating signage, implementing price changes, and conducting physical inventories. The role requires a strong commitment to customer service, ensuring that every interaction with customers is positive and memorable. The associate will be expected to maintain visual merchandising standards and assist in the assembly of merchandise and fixtures, contributing to an organized and appealing store layout. As a member of the FAST team, the associate must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, as the job may require working different shifts throughout the week, primarily from Monday to Thursday. Regular communication with the District FAST Supervisor is essential to report on task completion, address any issues, and propose solutions. The associate will also be responsible for performing detailed recovery tasks, ensuring planogram integrity, and providing peak coverage as needed. The position emphasizes the importance of customer engagement, encouraging associates to greet customers, uncover their needs, recommend products, and ask for the sale, all while providing legendary customer service. This role is designed for individuals who are self-directed and capable of completing assignments with minimal supervision. While no prior experience is required, a high school diploma is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, basic computer proficiency, and a background in farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding is highly desirable. The working environment is generally indoors with moderate noise levels, and associates will be expected to adhere to safety guidelines while promoting a productive work atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts Monday thru Thursday unless otherwise dictated by business needs.
• Communicate proactively and regularly with District FAST Supervisor on work completion, issues, and offer solutions to overcome.
• Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain visual merchandise standards.
• Perform store specific measurements.
• Complete store layout initiatives.
• Perform accurate counts for store inventories, as well as cycle counts.
• Complete Tractor Way top cap process.
• Complete store price changes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Hang store signage including, but not limited to, Circulars, Price Cuts and Managers' Specials.
• Assemble merchandise, fixtures and PDQs.
• Perform detailed recovery and review planogram integrity.
• Make the customer a priority when approached and provide legendary customer service.

Requirements

• No experience is required.
• High School Diploma is preferred.
• Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Must be self-directed and have the ability to complete assignments with little to no assistance.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
