About the position

The Merchandising Service Associate - Plant Service Lead at Lowe's is responsible for ensuring effective merchandising and customer service in the plant department. This role involves collaborating with the Merchandising Service team, engaging with customers, and maintaining the organization and presentation of plant merchandise according to company standards. The associate will also handle various operational tasks, including inventory management and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SMART customer service through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies.
  • Build relationships with vendors and ensure merchandise resets are completed according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager on project priorities and needs.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and assist them with merchandise.
  • Communicate information to customers regarding stock, special orders, and warranty information.
  • Merchandise plants by planogram, price, and color block as they arrive.
  • Identify and order replacements for damaged or missing signage and displays.
  • Update wayfinding and product location signage throughout the store.
  • Ensure proper placement of cross merchandise and drive add-on sales.
  • Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
  • Maintain communication with MSM and red vest associates.
  • Identify and communicate issues with quality and quantity to supervisors.
  • Adjust fixtures and rotate stock using power equipment as needed.
  • Complete and enter details for assigned service and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure displays are safe and in working order, repairing or replacing as needed.
  • Remove trash and debris, maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
  • Replace light bulbs and report maintenance issues as necessary.
  • Detect signs of theft and communicate them to management.
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Operate store equipment as needed for the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to work overnight and weekends.
  • Ability to utilize web-based computer programs for tasks.
  • 6 months of live nursery experience or general merchandising experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 months of Lowe's sales floor experience.
  • 6 months of experience performing product merchandising tasks.
  • 3 months of experience operating power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
  • Working knowledge of basic tools needed for the job.
