About the position

The position involves providing exceptional customer service at Lowe's, focusing on executing customer service policies and building relationships with vendors. The role requires collaboration with the Merchandising Service team and Manager, ensuring merchandise resets are completed according to specifications while engaging with customers to assist them in locating and selecting products. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Outside Garden area, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and performing various merchandising tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service through the execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
• Build relationships with vendors by providing direction and ensuring merchandise resets are completed according to specifications.
• Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedules, and project needs.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
• Listen to and respond knowledgeably to customer questions, taking them to areas of the store when necessary.
• Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicate information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Empty plant racks onto plant tables merchandising by planogram, price, and color block as they arrive.
• Identify damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral, and order replacements as needed.
• Update/validate wayfinding and product location signage and maintain digital information throughout the store.
• Ensure cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
• Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
• Maintain communication and partnership with MSM and red vest associates.
• Identify and communicate issues with quality, quantity, and additional needs to Outside Garden Supervisor and MSM.
• Adjust fixtures, rotate stock, and display products using power equipment as per service expectations.
• Review, complete, and enter completion details for all assigned service and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all displays are safe and in working order, repairing or replacing as needed.
• Repair/seal damaged packaging and boxes including peg-hook items.
• Remove trash, move cardboard boxes to the bailer, and dispose of plastic wrap and debris in the compactor.
• Replace light bulbs and alert the appropriate contact for additional maintenance issues.
• Detect signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, and communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization of Outside Garden and working areas.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment, conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards.
• Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties.
• Operate store equipment as needed depending on specific role and department.
• Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
• Ability to work overnight and weekends.
• Ability to utilize web-based computer programs to accomplish assigned tasks.
• 6 Months Live nursery experience or General Merchandising experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 6 Months Lowe's sales floor experience.
• 6 Months Experience performing product merchandising tasks including reading planograms, setting up and tearing down displays.
• 3 Months Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic tools needed for the job (e.g., hand tools, drills, saws).
