About the position

The Merchandising Service Manager (MSM) at Lowe's is responsible for overseeing the execution of merchandising services, project management, and maintenance activities within the store. This role focuses on ensuring that merchandise is accessible, well-displayed, and accurately priced, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers. The MSM leads a team of associates, coaches them on best practices, and collaborates with other departments to support store operations and sales.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Merchandising Service team and manage resources for efficient project execution.
  • Guide Merchandising Service Associates (MSAs) on project priorities and expectations.
  • Deliver onboarding and training, providing on-the-job coaching and mentorship to MSAs.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and partner with HR for employee management.
  • Manage project and travel expenses and weekly payroll for the team.
  • Identify and resolve project and store-level issues using available resources.
  • Communicate project information and updates with store teams and corporate leaders.
  • Oversee that merchandise is stocked and displayed according to planograms and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain store cleanliness and organization.
  • Detect signs of theft and communicate security risks to management.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by conducting daily safety reviews and adhering to safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of customer service or retail experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Less than 1 year of supervisory experience preferred, including coaching and training direct reports.
  • Experience in merchandising, including reading planograms and setting up displays.
  • Ability to operate power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a team lead role or leading others informally.
  • Working knowledge of basic tools needed for the job.
