About the position

The Merchant Operations Delivery Specialist is responsible for supporting Independent Sales Organizations' clients by managing various operational aspects and overseeing multiple deliveries. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet time-sensitive objectives. The specialist will engage with legal, compliance, underwriting, product, and sales teams to ensure operational efficiency and backend processes while providing quality support for the Enhanced Risk Payments Program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of multiple complex operational deliveries.
  • Work with internal departments to align on strategy, compliance and drive delivery.
  • Scope, create, plan, track and manage tasks against strategic plans.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions using necessary tools to communicate goals, status updates, and blockers.
  • Set up recurring meetings, manage deliverables/milestones, escalate risks and issues, ensure relevant stakeholders are involved to ensure a successful delivery.
  • Perform applicable work/maintenance on acquiring systems with a focus on solving complex problems and ISO needs.
  • Understand Payment Card Brand Rules, TSYS processing system, IRIS CRM products and merchant processing industry.
  • Research and resolve acquiring customer specific problems and questions relating to the acquiring program and its requirements/standards.
  • Responsible for development and production of reporting for senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Assist with implementation of operational changes/enhancements, including reporting tools, processing routines, etc.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for ERP acquiring functions.
  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Strong working knowledge of Global/TSYS Systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of bank operational processes.
  • Basic knowledge of major Card brand rules.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in applicable software and vendor tools, such as TSYS's Backend and IRIS CRM.
  • Working knowledge of the investigative methods, procedures and documentation standards.
  • Ability to use analytical skills to solve practical and technical problems and work with a variety of concrete and unknown variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individual and groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, residuals, pay-outs.
