About the position

The Senior Supplier Development Engineer (SDE) for fuel, air, and electrical components at Brunswick is responsible for ensuring supplier quality and optimizing processes related to fuel systems. This role involves direct support of production operations, conducting root cause investigations, and collaborating with suppliers to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. The SDE will act as a subject matter expert in fuel cell design and development, overseeing compliance with industry standards and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and maintain fuel, air, and electrical suppliers through direct support of production operations.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations for quality issues.
  • Oversee supplier quality processes for fuel, air, and electrical components.
  • Develop processes and systems to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Lead and facilitate quality solutions for urgent production and customer issues.
  • Monitor current supplier performance and generate monthly performance scorecards.
  • Analyze supplier performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Assist suppliers in advancing product quality efforts in coordination with engineering and project management.
  • Lead the development of PPAP documentation as required by the Quality Management System.
  • Drive a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement within the supplier network.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits as required.
  • Conduct supplier training programs to enhance quality awareness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in fuel systems (design, development, testing, analysis).
  • Knowledge of relevant fuel safety and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with various process systems (e.g., injection/blow molding, extrusions, welding).
  • Strong problem-solving experience and tools.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, including design reviews, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans.
  • Working knowledge of DOE, SPC, GD&T.
  • Ability to interpret and understand complex drawings.
  • Understanding of 3D CAD modeling and mold flow software.
  • Experience with failure analysis using advanced techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Supply Chain/Procurement management experience is a plus.
