About the position

The MARS Quality and Risk Manager (QRM) plays a crucial role in supporting internal client service engagement teams involved in mergers and acquisitions. This position focuses on managing client contracts, ensuring compliance with policies, and advising on risk management related to M&A engagements. The QRM will lead consultations, negotiate contracts, and oversee confidentiality and independence considerations, while also providing training and presentations on risk topics.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on contract structuring and perform risk reviews to mitigate exposure.
  • Support contract negotiations and develop tactics for resolving contractual issues.
  • Consult with the Office of General Counsel on contracting matters.
  • Review and modify third-party access letters for audit and tax work.
  • Evaluate potential conflict matters related to bankruptcy and litigation.
  • Understand and address client acceptance policies and requirements.
  • Lead coordination and tracking of practice reviews for annual selection of Advisory PPMDs.
  • Develop and present risk topics at MARS quarterly staff meetings.
  • Review and modify marketing materials to comply with external communications policy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of consulting, contracting, and management experience.
  • BBA/BA/BS in a related field with experience in delivering M&A client services.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating letter agreements related to M&A.
  • Ability to work directly with senior-level individuals internally and externally.
  • One of the following Accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed attorney, or Enrolled agent.
