About the position

The Private Wealth Supervision Manager (PWSM) at Merrill Wealth Management is responsible for supervising Private Wealth Advisors and ensuring compliance with laws and policies while focusing on the needs of Ultra High Net Worth Families. This role involves risk management, compliance oversight, and contributing to branch office profitability by influencing business practices to minimize regulatory and reputational risks. The PWSM operates with minimal guidance and collaborates closely with the Office Management Team and Centralized Supervision to address client needs and concerns effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Private Wealth Advisors to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Manage risk in client outcomes and partner with advisors in risk management.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and act as an independent voice on risk.
  • Support the company's business objectives and contribute to branch profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Managing Director and provide coaching to advisors.
  • Partner with the Client Relationship Manager and back them up as needed.
  • Conduct robust supervision and ensure client needs are managed in alignment with their goals.

Requirements

  • Series 7, 66, 9, 10 (or equivalent) licenses required.
  • Series 3, 31 licenses preferred if warranted.
  • Proven ability to manage risk and make sound decisions based on industry regulations.
  • Strong understanding of wealth management concepts and financial services products.
  • Ability to coach Private Wealth Advisors on aligning solutions to client goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective coaching and risk mitigation.
  • Analytical skills to identify trends and implement improved processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership style with clear communication and collaboration.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of Associate Office Management Team Development program preferred.
  • Experience as a Merrill Lynch Market Supervision Manager preferred.
