Responsibilities
- Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machines using various tools.
- Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables for machining processes.
- Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke.
- Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on work pieces using instruments.
- Positions work pieces against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades.
- Starts machines and evaluates operation to reposition work pieces or adjust settings as needed.
- Inspects or measures work using rules, gauges, and templates.
Requirements
- Experience in fabrication or related field.
- Ability to operate machinery and tools effectively.
- Attention to detail and precision in work.
