About The Position

The Materials & Processes(M&P) Engineer works cross-functionally to make engineering & materials decisions and changes to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Héroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3 years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace
Experience in landing gear materials and related processes, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing
Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
Technically support manufacturing operations related to: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
Collaborate with Quality and MRB teams to make change or scrap determinations.
Collaborate with Process and Engineering teams to make structural integrity determinations for high strength steel and alloys throughout the plating and treatment process.
Act as a delegated M&PE for manufacturing plan and process technique approval.
Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils including: meetings, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.
