About the position

The Meter Data Controller at Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is responsible for providing administrative and functional support for the Retail Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology and Customer Service Team. This role ensures the integration of AMI systems with the District's Retail SAP Customer Information System (CIS) and is tasked with ensuring timely and accurate meter readings for customer billing, troubleshooting AMI equipment, and analyzing metering data for various departments. The position requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to meet the business needs of the District.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and functional support for Retail AMI technology and Customer Service Team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate retail AMI meter readings for customer billings.
  • Analyze reports and metering data for various departments within NPPD.
  • Troubleshoot AMI equipment meters for connectivity issues, including disconnects/reconnects and data issues.
  • Communicate daily with the Centralized Customer Contact Center and other departments regarding AMI meter issues.
  • Perform daily analysis of metering activity within the AMI system(s).
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Advanced Metering System Administrator as needed.
  • Maintain adequate two-way network addresses and connectivity on all meters and devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, business, accounting, information management, or related field plus one year of experience.
  • Associate Degree in business, accounting, information management, or related field plus three years of experience.
  • High school diploma/GED plus five years of experience.
  • Experience working with customers through operational support, retail business, sales, or a utility-specific company is required.
  • Experience with AMI, MDMS, SAP, and/or other Retail system functionality and Windows-based software applications is required.
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and support of the District's SAP system and/or other key Operational Technology systems.
