About the position

The Meter Design Engineer - Vehicle Application will be part of the Vehicle Development team at a major employer in Saline, MI. This role focuses on the design and development of meters and Heads Up Displays (HUD) for vehicles, ensuring that the designs meet performance, customer needs, and regulatory compliance while managing supplier relationships and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle application of meter and HUD
• Plan structure and design of meter and HUD through target setting, packaging and style feasibility that balances performance, customer needs and cost while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Issue design specifications to suppliers and manage supplier schedule, performance and quality
• Manage part list and issue internal design documents including engineering change instructions and wiring specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
• 5 years or more as an electrical design engineer

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in vehicle electronics development
• Experience in CATIA
