About the position

The Metering Data Engineer at AES Ohio is responsible for becoming the in-house expert on metering data, focusing on improving and automating existing metering reports. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate data management and reporting, contributing to the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational reports, ensuring updated and correct data.
• Develop quality reports to monitor the performance of meters and personnel, translating data into actionable insights.
• Translate internal department requests into concrete requirements.
• Collaborate across departments to define, develop, and implement structural reporting that supports long-term business objectives.
• Provide data-driven analysis and present findings to peers and upper management.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance on computer systems, network environments, AMI Infrastructure, MDM, MV90, SAP, and metering.
• Assist with metering programs, software product specifications, development, testing, and training.
• Participate in and contribute to product training.
• Work closely with the metering team.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, or Computer Science required.
• 1-3 years of working experience as an Electrical Engineer/Data Analyst.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite programs and Google Cloud.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with utilities at an internship or co-op desired, but not required.
