About the position

The MFG Data Entry & Shop Support role at Hapman involves supporting manufacturing operations through effective data entry, organization, and communication. The position requires a dedicated individual who can manage multiple tasks, maintain schedules, and ensure the smooth flow of information within the plant. The role is crucial for promoting excellence and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Promote excellence throughout the department and plant
• Accept and log job folders (production jobs, parts ordered and work orders)
• Distribute paperwork to designated operations
• Maintain schedule 1 & MSS
• Make short report and get jobs/orders ready to ship/Fab or put into stock
• Distribute packing slips to shipping for items that ship to vendors
• Release parts orders as needed
• Transfer items between buildings as needed
• Notify the Fabrication Manager of issues and changed ship dates (shortages, items processed incorrectly, items cut wrong)
• Job schedule updates
• Job status report administration
• Train employees on MSS and Visual processes
• Responsible for Kanban system
• Responsible for purchasing shop tools, material and supplies for production
• Primary contact for Vendors
• Provides information and maintains spreadsheet for Safety Shoes purchases
• Track materials on shop floor
• File and maintain job folders and all related blueprints and documentation
• Perform other functions deemed necessary by Plant Manager or VP of Manufacturing

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma required
• Three years minimum applicable manufacturing experience (union shop is a plus)
• Strong in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
• Great attention to detail
• Work effectively under tight deadlines
• Honest, professional, independently driven and responsible
• Must be flexible, able to multi-task and prioritize
