About the position

The Mfg Engineer, Advanced, Fab position is critical in maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical equipment that utilizes high vacuum, sub-micron precision, exotic chemistry, advanced imaging, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques. The successful candidate will be involved in the entire capital acquisition process for manufacturing equipment, from the initial idea through to installation. This role requires collaboration with suppliers to select and purchase spare parts, as well as coordinating service visits to ensure optimal equipment performance. In addition to equipment maintenance, the engineer will perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs within a manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for developing preventative maintenance and repair procedures, determining spare parts requirements, and driving hardware improvements and automation projects. Close collaboration with process engineers and operators is essential to support both volume production and research and development process development. The engineer will also assist in the retirement of legacy tools, ensuring a smooth transition to newer technologies. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electro-mechanical equipment that may use high vacuum, sub-micron precision, exotic chemistry, advanced imaging, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
  • Drive manufacturing equipment capital acquisition process from idea through install.
  • Work with suppliers to select and purchase spare parts, and to coordinate service visits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop PM and repair procedures and determine spare parts requirements.
  • Drive hardware improvements and automation projects.
  • Work closely with process engineers and operators to aid in both volume production and R&D process development.
  • Assist in the retirement of legacy tools.

Requirements

  • Maintenance experience with manufacturing equipment or other complex systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of tools and standard engineering practices.
  • Strong personal and e-mail communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and solve complex problems independently.
  • Ability to learn on the job and work with cutting edge technologies and processes.
  • Desire to work in a highly technical organization with a very strong and inclusive team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience maintaining semiconductor, SMT or complex manufacturing hardware.
  • BA/BS degree in Electronics, military electronics training, or strong electro-mechanical technical capability.
  • Experience working across disciplines including mechanics, electronics, materials science, and software engineering.
  • Experience handling chemistry and working with HPMs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with contractors and managing facilities projects (plumbing, electrical, general).
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing techniques is highly desired.
  • Fluency with CAD (Solidworks, Siemens NX, CREO etc.).
