Lancer Worldwide, a Hoshizaki Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will provide engineering support by troubleshooting problems, monitoring, and testing new methods and procedures to enhance system efficiencies. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing manufacturing processes within established schedule and budgetary parameters. You will review and recommend changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation, ensuring that our manufacturing operations are efficient and effective. Additionally, you will implement processes, methods, and tooling for new programs, supervising their assembly and proofing. Your expertise will also be required in the manufacture of assembly lines, work cells, and other manufacturing areas. You will be tasked with implementing and installing equitable work measurement standards, as well as measuring variances to standards, identifying out-of-control variances, and investigating reasons for these discrepancies. Collaborating with fabricators, you will create fixtures, teaching aids, manufacturing tools, and component containers. Collecting and collating data as needed by the Manufacturing Engineer or Value Stream Manager (VSM) will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will interface with other departments to address and resolve engineering issues and participate in the initiation phase of new product lines. Documenting procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment by working closely with line operators, machine operators, and material handlers will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Two (2) years manufacturing experience required.
  • One (1) year manufacturing leadership preferred (i.e., Quality Technician, Group leader, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lancer Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge concerning Lean Manufacturing, modern fabrication and assembly techniques, and machine shop practices.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with manufacturing resource-planning software required; ACAD literacy is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
